Know the Warning Signs and Symptoms

“Stroke Heroes Act F.A.S.T.” because every minute counts.

  • Face: Does one side of the face droop? Ask the person to smile.
  • Arm: Is one arm weak or numb? Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
  • Speech: Is the speech slurred? Ask the person to repeat a simple sentence, such as "Jack ran to the store." Is the sentence repeated correctly?
  • Time: If someone is showing signs of any of these symptoms, time is essential.

Call 911 immediately and explain that the person is experiencing stroke symptoms.

Suspected stroke patients will be taken to our designated Stroke Center where their symptoms will be fully evaluated, diagnosed and treated by our “Stroke Alert” team within 60 minutes of arrival. Learn about the first 60 minutes.
